Philosophy to Physics

The Beginning...

What Philosophy and Theology Gave Us...

Humanity has always sought answers, and our imagination has never failed to provide them. From the time of Socrates, philosophers have debated the mysteries of life. Aristotle, born in 384 BC, attributed everything to his 'Prime Mover'—the one force initiating movement throughout the cosmos. This movement was not just linear but multi-directional, akin to fire melting metal or forces expanding explosively, this hard for me to fully digest; I find it easier to equate it to a pantheist monad.

Heraclitus, born circa 535 BC, was a meloncholy individual who delved into metaphysical thought. He introducing 'Panta Rhei' (everything flows) and the 'Logos' (the rational principle permeating all things in our universe). He emphasized that while everyone has some knowledge and clarity of thought, a deeper understanding of the 'Logos' is essential. This concept, though complex and somewhat esoteric, ties in with a creator god or a form of the platonic nous, the Indian Ishvara and it began to resonate in Christian theology as Christ the son before his incarnation as Jesus. The 'Logos' has been interpreted variously as "word," 'formula,' 'plan,' account,'' measure,' and' reckoning.' Hippolytus, born in 170 AD, equated the' Logos' with the Christian Word of God, which is not surprising as Jesus is the 'Word' in the Gospel of John, which was written in old Greek, identifying him with the word Logos. Thomas Aquinas strongly tied Aristotelian philosophy and Christianity together.

Before Aristotelian Christianity, the prime mover was independent and one, non-physical energy moving the cosmic bodies. This exploration is not about challenging orthodox beliefs or promoting any specific religion, but about examining recurring themes across diverse philosophical and spiritual traditions. From Vedic Hinduism and Sikhism to New Age concepts and Native American spirituality, we see a universal spirit or an almighty being of sorts.

What Science and Philosophy of Mind is Giving Us...

The idea that consciousness creates reality is a subject of great intrigue. Quantum mystics often reference the double slit experiment and the mathematics of Everett’s many worlds theory, as well as Schrödinger’s cat. These ideas are popular in science fiction, but the true nature of consciousness remains elusive. Philosophical positions like filter theory and panpsychism center the universe around consciousness, echoing ancient Dharmic, Jewish, and Christian beliefs.

How Reality Emerged...

Ancient texts and hieroglyphs often describe a primordial beginning as chaos or monstrous energy expandind. While modern Western thought generally views physics as the root of all things, the mysteries of the universe remain vast. Physical energies evolved into sub-atomic particles, which then formed our chemistry and biology, eventually leading to conscious life. This invisible motion, whether a prime mover or an ever-flowing force, animates all matter and life, allowing the universe to perceive itself through our eyes. Plotinus and Plato describe similar processes of the one perfect princeple, emanating into all things over time, becoming increasingly complex. Very much like the absolute reality of Brahman in Advaita Vedanta, who resonates in a state of simple sat chit ananda, the one is of pure heavenly simplicity as a conscious state emanating all things.

The Hard Problem and a Possible Anathema!

Our greatest minds are standing on the edge, stuck on the boundary line of knowledge, hopeful to understand consciousness our primary source of reality. People still marvel at the double slit experiment, how observation of fundamental particles can influence their behaviour. Maybe, we might ask, the wave function collapses by an unseen sympathetic/empathic mechanism or interface. Our senses inform us, our brain will represent and process fine grain information, sending it to our brains syntax department, suggesting we have human limitation with perseption of deeper reality.

Information is omnipresent; around 2012, theoretical physicist James Gates discovered a mathematical computer code in string theory equation, sparking off multitudes of creation and holographic theories via mathematical design.

Then does this somehow say that the neuro-scientist, Karl H. Pribram was also on the right track? He said the brain is a holographic network which holds memory and it follows the same rules and fit the deeper quantum level of reality. He went on to add that memory is created by wave interference patterns, the firing electrical waves across dendrite and fine neuronal differ to the standard action potentials taught in universities. Modern influential holographic mind theories have since developed from his work.

If thought itself shares a mutual proto-conscious energy, it is reasonable to consider whether this is filtered from the environment by the brain or generated by the organ in question.

If life did emerge from a primordial intelligence or a prime mover, our functional biology would have layers of systems working together intelligently—good gosh, it does.
The constituencies of the human system interact upward and sideways.
If intelligence is observable in every living cell, property dualism and Panpsychism hold sway. Our bodies warrant it. Kinosine motor proteins walk along our cells microtubules dragging vesicles to their designated points like little workers. RNA coding and mitosis for instance, both delicately and accurately undertaken by chemical communication.

Astrocytes, the defenders of the brain, hold responsible duties from storing and distributing energy substrates, creating and maintaining links to other cells. They even regulate cell creation and balance our brain chemistry.

Considering that basic excitatory and inhibitory responses inform thinking and communication, we may quite easily share intentionality with our own tiny micro-organelles. We maintain and preserve our homes and families just as the astrocyte nurtures and oversees its own cluster.

After the tentative confirmation of the Higgs Boson and Higgs field in 2013, (an omnipresent energy field thought to exist everywhere). It is possible such spins of physics and radical expressions of energy could have manifested and evolved into the bizarre, nothing like what we see on earth. From speculation, water roaches and bottom feeders of lakes are oblivious to the birds that live above them, just as very few lions are aware of sharks. Like them our scope is limited.

Maybe it is conceivable to suggest that unknown sentient beings may have already, or may one day evolve from the unimaginable. Strange genetic-like occurrences based from obscure fundamentals, the likes of tachyons (time particles) or gravitons, photons or anti-matter perhaps. Most life forms on earth have density that can be touched, but this should not be a pre-requisite criterion for all potential life forms, as we know, diversity runs wild where life can be found.

It seems we are still characterising the almighty. Seeking to define the ultimate theory.
